CONSTRUCTION: GRP hull and GRP/balsa core deck moulded to Lloyds approval. Full teak laid decks. Liferaft, deck and lazarette lockers, flush-fitting and teak laid. Interior joinery of teak and teak faced ply, soft radiused corners. Cabin sole of teak and holly.
KEEL: Fin keel with encapsulated lead ballast, skeg rudder.
STEERING: Wheel steering (Edson steering wheel with leather cover). Emergency steering system.
SPARS/RIG: Cutter rigged sloop. Keel stepped, double spreader mast, spares painted white. Hood stowaway main in-mast furling with electric drive and 46 EST Lewmar electric winch. Profurl furling on cutter stay. Seaway hydraulic back stay adjuster, boom vang preventer, stowage track on the mast for spinnaker gear.
SAILS: Stowaway mainsail 560 sq ft (1997). Furling Genoa 756 sq ft (1997). Furling staysail 270 sq ft (1997), all by Doyle sailmakers. 2 x spinnakers - Quantum (1997), South sails asymmetrical (1996), both with spinnaker sleeves.
ACCOMMODATION: 6 berths in 3 cabins, with stand-by berths in the main saloon. 2 heads, 1 shower.
Forpeak: Chain locker. Forecabin: 2 x V berths with hanging locker and ample stowage. Guest cabin with two single (upper and lower) berths to port, settee to starboard, dressing table, chair and door mirror. Heads to starboard with Raritain Crown electric flushing marine WC, washbasin, hot and cold pressurised water system. Large saloon area, dinette to starboard with curved settee and cushions. Custom-built solid teak swivel table. Settee to port, 2 x portable chairs, bar and ample stowage. Navigation station to port with solid teak chart table top. Galley area to starboard with twin stainless steel sinks, stainless steel Force 10 3-burner Calor gas cooker with oven and grill (1999) and electric solenoid. Extractor fan over cooker, Rich Beers marine fridge/freezer with 120v/holding plates, two compressors, two systems, water cooled. Hot and cold pressurised water system, manual fresh water pump with charcoal water filter. Shower room with shower and washbasin (hot and cold pressurised water). Bendix washing/drying machine. Owner's cabin with two large berths, bureau between, two hanging lockers and ample stowage. Ensuite heads with Raritan Crown flushing marine WC, washbasin (hot and cold pressurised water).
MOTOR: Perkins 4.236 four cylinder 80hp diesel engine (1999) with shaft drive and three-bladed feathering Maxprop propeller.
ELECTRICS: 8 x deep cycle size 60 wet cell batteries, 2001/2005. High capacity 24v alternator. 12v, 24v electrical ship's supply. 230/120v AC mains with distribution panels, all new 1996. Marinco shore power, transformer isolated. Heart inverter/charger.
TANKAGE: Fuel: 312 gallons (1420 litres) in 2 tanks. Water: 175 gallons (795 litres). Watermaker capable of producing 417 gallons (1895 litres) per day. Holding tank approximately 33 gallons (150 litres) in 2 tanks.

Deck: Pulpit, pushpit, stanchions and granny bars in stainless steel, dorade guard rails. Simpson 6A stainless steel davits. Fairleads and mooring cleats. Lewmar self-tailing winches including #65 ST primaries. Lewmar deck hatches and opening ports. Framed deck saloon windows - forward windows open. Ground tackle: 75lb (34kg) CQR anchor with 90m chain and warp. Lighthouse horizontal electric anchor windlass. Antenna frame. Sprayhood.
Navigation: Ritchie steering compass on binnacle. B & G wind/speed instruments. ICOM IC-M 126 VHF radio. GPS Furuno GP32. Simrad 24 mile radar. Raytheon Navcenter 600 chart plotter. Autohelm 6000 autopilot and electric drive unit. Masthead tri-colour, navigation lights.
Safety: BFA Pacific 8-person liferaft (certificated 2005). Horseshoe lifebuoy, life jackets, 3 x fire extinguishers. Firdel radar reflector.
General: Onan 8kw MDKD, 120-240v, 60 cycle, 1800rpm generator. Air conditioning powered by 2 x Cruiser model 16,000 SMX II, water cooled with pumps, controls and ducts (1996). SK Engineering watermaker (1996). Seperate hot water immersion heater. Panasonic TV, FM radio/cassette player with 2 x cabin and cockpit speakers. Various mooring warps and fenders.
OWNERS COMMENTS: Susie Q 3 was bought to Engand from America by her present owner in 2005. Since then she has undergone a major refit. She has already completed one circumnavigation and is ready for another. She has been extremely well maintained and is in beautiful condition.
